On November 24th, violist Lara Albesano won second prize, an amount of £ 3000,- at the Cecil Aronowitz Viola Competition. Organised by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Birmingham City University and the British Viola Society, the competition is dedicated to Cecil Aronowitt, the South African violist and long-term collaborator with Benjamin Britten.
Lara graduated studied with Ilya Grubert and Marjolein Dispa at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In June 2017 she graduated from the master programme.
