The research division of the Amsterdam conservatory organizes study labs with a view to research the effects of advanced training methods applied in sports ton the concert and audition practice of musicians. A video impression of the latest study lab (February 2016) can now be seen here. The focus of the researchers was on the effects deliberate practice, mental imagery, practicing with 'external focus', and real-life simulation. Students and teachers of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam collaborated with students and researchers of the Faculty of Human Movement Sciences of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
