Another success for the Ebonit Saxophone Quartet: after having been selected as finalist for the Dutch Classical Talent & Tour Award, the quartet has now also won the Almere Chamber Music Competition. Additionally, the quartet won the 'Brava Kijkersprijs'. The Ebonit Saxophone Quartet was formed in 2011 by Simone Müller, Dineke Nauta, Johannes Pfeuffer and Paulina Kulesza, all students with Arno Bornkamp. Currently, the quartet studies in the master's degree programme for string quartets, offered jointly by the Netherlands String Quartet and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where the members study with Marc Danel, Sven Arne Tepl en Stefan Metz.

Other finalists in the competition were the Berlage Saxophone Quartet - Lars Niederstrasser, Peter Vigh, Kirstin Niederstrasser en Eva van Grinsven, all students with Arno Bornkamp - and the duo Piotr Jasiurkowski, violin, and Tobias Borsboom, piano. The duo won the audience prize. Tobias Borsboom graduated from the master's degree in piano at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2013.
