Both Sarah and Felipe graduated from the master’s degree programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2013. They formed the music-theatre duo Bo is Burning, and they will perform their programme 21st Century Clogs - ‘a music-theatre triptych that uses traditional English clog dance and live wireless electronics to create unique ways of expression to communicate a message’.
Sarah and Felipe began developing this programme as part of their master research, and have since gone on to develop, tour and perform it around the Netherlands and the UK. For this festival, they were nominated by Michiel Schuijer on behalf of the AHK, and they were happy to be one of only four live performances selected.
