Trombone students win prizes at ITA trombone competitions

Again the Conservatorium van Amsterdam trombone students have been very successful at the International Trombone Festival, which took place from 4-7 June at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (USA).

The Thein Brothers Quartet, formed by Sebastiaan Kemner, Taichi Sato, Marijn Migchielsen and Rommert Groenhof, (students of Pierre Volders, Jorgen van Rijen, Remko de Jager and Ben Van Dijk) won the ITA Trombone Quartet Competition. Sebastiaan Kemner, (student of Jorgen van Rijen, Remko de Jager and Pierre Volders) won the Frank Smith Trombone Competition. And finally, Rommert Groenhof (student of Ben van Dijk) was one of the three finalists in the Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral Bass Trombone Competition.
