Band leader and saxophonist Bernard van Rossum, who graduated in 2013 from the CvA's master degree programme, also won the prize for Best Soloist in the final. Pablo MartÃnez, trombone student in the CvA's master degree programme and a member of the BvR Flamenco Big Band, won the prize for Best Soloist in the semi-final. The judges were pianist Kenny Werner, pianist Michel Herr and trombonist Erik van Lier.
