The fourth edition of Jazz by the Pool Festival, which took place from June to September 2012 in a stunning location as the pools of Terme Preistoriche Hotel in Montegrotto Terme (Padova) are, has undergone a change: Terme Preistoriche Hotel, the organiser of the festival, is now collaborating with Dolce Vita association to set up the first edition of Jazz by the Pool Competition, an international competition addressed to new talents in the jazz field.

Young musicians, soloists, singers, composers and groups aged between 16 and 26 can participate in the first selection, which ended on 3rd June 2012; eleven artists were selected and had the opportunity to perform during the festival by opening the concerts of the famous musicians joining it. The board of Jazz by the Pool Competition was composed by experts in the field, who judged the artists and awarded a winner in each category: groups, composers and soloists. The three prizes are Premio Hotel Terme Preistoriche, Premio Consorzio Terme Euganee and Premio Dolce Vita, and they aim at supporting young artists in their careers in different ways, giving them the opportunity to perform in various situations, releasing their own cd and much more.
