Johann Sebastian Bach - Mass in B minor ‘Hohe Messe’

Together with the Sweelinck Chamber Choir and soloists from the Early Music Voice Department, the Sweelinck Baroque Orchestra will perform the Mass in B minor, nicknamed “Hohe Messe”, the magnum opus that Johann Sebastian Bach wrote at the end of his life. A multitude of styles are featured in this work: intimate solo arias and duets, masterful choral passages, beautiful instrumental solos and complex fugues alternate. Bach drew richly from his earlier masterpieces and forged them into a compilation of highlights. This final vocal work of his career thus forms a sublime final chord.
