First prize for Ensemble IJ Space at Biagio-Marini Competition

Ensemble IJ Space have been awarded first prize at the Biagio-Marini Competition in Neuburg for their performance of Francesco Mancini’s Sonata in g minor. The ensemble received an amount of prize money of € 2000,-. Thee Biagio-Marini Competition is a competition for chamber music ensembles and forms part of the Neuburger Sommerakademie.

The members of Ensemble IJ Space are Yi-Chang Liang, recorder; Chia-Hua Ciang, baroque cello; Asako Ueda, arch lute and baroque guitar, and Machiko Suto, harpsichord. Yi-Chang Liang and Machiko Suto graduated from the master’s degree programme in Early Music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
