CvA staff and alumni nominated for Edison Jazz/World 2018 awards

Several Conservatorium van Amsterdam teachers and alumni have been nominated for an Edison Jazz/World 2018 award. The album Goldbrun by CvA teacher Yuri Honing’s Acoustic Quartet has even been nominated twice, in the category ‘Jazz National’, and for the Audience Prize. The album Superjazz by BRUUT! also has been nominated in the category ‘Jazz National’. All members of BRUUT! are CvA alumni: Maarten Hogenhuis, Felix Schlarmann, Folkert Oosterbeek and Thomas Rolff.

Other Audience Prize nominees are the album Two by Krupa & the Genes, with alumni Maarten Hogenhuis, Sean Fasciani and Raphaël Vanoli and teacher Jasper Blom, and the album Rapture by Sven Hammond, with alumnus Glenn Gaddum Jr.

The album What If by EvenSanne has been nominated in the category ‘Jazz Vocal National’. All members of EvenSanne, winner of Keep an Eye the Records 2015, are CvA alumni: Sanne Huijbregts, Eran Har Even, Itai Weissman and Jeroen Batterink.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday July 6th at Edison Jazz/World 2018, as part of the North Sea Jazz’s fringe festival North Sea Round Town.
