They were awarded the prize during the STIMU Symposium in the Holland Festival of Early Music in Utrecht. Reinhard Siegert studied Early Music Improvisation with Miklos Spanyi and Jenny Thomas Basso Continuo with Thérèse de Goede. Both students graduated from the master’s degree programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2014.

The symposium, entitled Curriculum Matters, examined in detail the early music education of the past and of today. This topic was discussed by scholars from Oxford, Copenhagen, Leipzig, The Juilliard School, Harvard, Princeton, Royal College of Music London, Basel (SCB), Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
