Josué Meléndez

Music in The Hague, and the Schola Cantorum in Basel, Josué Meléndez is a cornetto and recorder player who works with leading ensembles of early music, such as Concerto Palatino, La Fenice, Les Cornets Noirs, Musica Fiata, Oltremontano, the Nederlandse Bach Vereniging, as well as with renowned conductors including Ton Koopman, Jordi Saval, Gabriel Garrido, Rinaldo Alessandrini, and many others. He is the founder and artistic director of I Fedeli, which won the first prize in the International Young Artist Presentation 2009 in Antwerp and has recorded CDs of Rosenmüller and the Tarasconi Codex among others. He has presented his research at the Medieval-Renaissance Music conference in Birmingham and more recently at an international conference entitled “Music Improvisation in the Baroque Era,” Instituto Luigi Boccherini, Lucca, in May 2017.
