Head of Jazz and Pop

Edo Righini is Associate Director and Head of Jazz and Pop Music studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a guitarist he played and recorded with many international artists, such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mike Mainieri, Bob Malach, Rick Margitza, Kim Thompson, Dominique di Piazza, Linley Marthe, Terri Lyne Carrington, Mitchel Forman and Amy Winehouse. He toured all around Europe, performing at the most prestigious festivals, working at the same time as arranger, guitarist and musical leader with numerous Dutch theatre artists such as Wende Snijders and Acda en de Munnik. 

From 2003 till 2015 Edo Righini was a faculty member at several conservatories of music such as the Conservatorium of Maastricht, Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Siena Jazz University and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he was also appointed Head of Online Learning and Continuing Education in 2015. 

He is also active as Executive Board member of the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and Executive Board member of the Stichting Jan Pietersz. Huis, a foundation that offers 350 affordable, sound insulated rooms and flats to music students in Amsterdam.
