January 19-20, 2019

A short, deep dive into the Early Music Department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam

Are you considering studying Early Music at one of the leading Conservatories in the world?
Do you want to experience what it really means to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Early Music Department?

Then attend the EMWW for:
* demonstration lessons and masterclasses by our dedicated teaching team
* meeting other musicians and trying out our extensive collection of early instruments
* introductions to and discussions on Early Music topics
* concert by teachers and students

All instrumentalists and singers are welcome.

Early brass
This year's EMWW focuses especially on early brass. The teachers for natural trumpet Nicolas Isabelle and for natural horn Teunis van der Zwart will present their views on the latest developments in early brass playing and give demonstration lessons.
Both teachers are available for try-out lessons, also for brass players who do not yet have any experience with historical instruments. Students of natural horn, natural trumpet and baroque trombone will give concerts and are happy to meet and talk to interested brass players. They are the best source of information if you consider studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Come to our Early Music Winter Weekend and find out how the CvA early music community is connected to the other CvA departments and to the music world outside.

The following teachers will give lessons and masterclasses:

Antoinette Lohmann/Sayuri Yamagata Baroque violin & viola
Benny Aghassi Baroque bassoon
Teunis van der Zwart natural horn
Nicolas Isabelle natural trumpet
Olga Pashchenko fortepiano
