Gonzalo Argüelo (viool) en Eadaoin Copeland (piano)
Born in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina and of Italian nationality, he started playing the violin at the age of 6. After finishing school, he completed his Bachelor in the National University of Arts, in BA, under the guidance of Haydee Seibert Francia, concertmaster of Buenos Aires Philarmonic. He was selected to join the Schleswig Holstein Orchestral Academy during the years 2013-16, where he performed in many diverse chamber music projects as well, and took part in the Orchestral Academy programme of Teatro Colón.
During his graduate years in Buenos Aires he won auditions for contracts both at National Symphony of Argentina (2014-15) and Buenos Aires Philarmonic as 1st violin. In 2015 he had his debut as soloist playing the Mendelssohn E minor Concerto. He’s a member of the Reise Quartett and founder of the Orquesta Amigos de la Nueva Música. Guest musician of the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, Gonzalo is in the 2nd year of his Master degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Prof. Johannes Leertouwer.
Éadaoin is an Irish pianist currently studying in in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam for a Masters degree in Répétiteurship. She studies under the tutelage of Frank van de Laar, Jaap Kooi and Marianne Boer. Éadaoin recently concluded her musical studies in the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she studied piano and also viola for many years. Éadaoin holds a first class honours degree in Neuroscience from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Music Teaching and Performance from the RIAM. Éadaoin wishes to thank the Arts Council of Ireland and Fingal County Council’s Artists’ Support Scheme for supporting her studies in Amsterdam.
Éadaoin performs regularly in recital in the Netherlands, Ireland and abroad. With a passion for instrumental and vocal accompaniment, Éadaoin actively performs with many singers and instrumentalists. She has recently performed in St.Ann’s Church, Dublin, Thomaskerk, Amsterdam and Papagenohuis, Laren. Last year, Éadaoin was selected as a pianist for ‘Drums and Guns’, a collaborative project featuring pianists and singers from the RIAM, Guildhall School and Juilliard. They performed in Dublin, London and New York and also did a live BBC radio 3 broadcast. Éadaoin was also invited to participate as a répétiteur in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Young Artist’s Opera Programme in Fontainebleau last summer. A musical highlight for Éadaoin was performing the Schumann Piano Concerto in A minor with Trinity Orchestra in Dublin and Prague.
Éadaoin has participated in both solo and collaborative piano masterclasses with acclaimed pianists including Leon McCawley, Christopher Elton, Evelyne Brancart, Robert Kulek, Iain Burnside, Jeff Cohen, and Gary Matthewman and has also studied at Chethams International Piano Summer School in Manchester. She is a multiple prize-winner in various competitions across Ireland, and was the recipient of the 2016 Orla Boylan Young musician bursary. Éadaoin is also passionate about music education and has taught in various schools in Dublin for many years.
Éadaoin is also a keen ensemble pianist and played for many years in a number of orchestras including Trinity Orchestra, the RIAM Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and the Hibernian Orchestra on both piano and viola. She has performed with these orchestras in various venues throughout Ireland, aswell as Berlin, Budapest and London. Eadaoin also performed as a pianist in CvA ensembles in the 2017 Opera Forward Festival and 2017 Amsterdam Viola Festival.
