Jurgis Kubilius
Jurgis Kubilius is a Lithuanian composer, music publicist, and public speaker. His work embodies the Hermes archetype—bridging intuition and logic, conceptualism and beauty, sincerity and humor. He enjoys playfully challenging both audiences and musicians, treating sound, text, and gesture as equal creative elements.
Jurgis studied composition at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and is completing his master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has received numerous awards, including the Lithuanian Composers’ Union’s Young Composers Award (2023) and first prize at the Vox Juventutis Competition (2024). In 2025, he was awarded an Emerging Artist Grant from the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
Jurgis is also an active music publicist, concert and radio host, currently featured on Lithuanian National Radio.
About Ant00n-2.0
‘Bruckner is half genius, half simpleton!’—words spoken by conductor Hans von Bülow, Bruckner’s contemporary. Indeed, Bruckner is a man of paradoxes: one can find many contradictions between his dull personal life and his posthumous legend; between his pompous orchestration and possibly an imposter syndrome; between his devoted Catholic faith and a romantic life resembling a tragicomic parody of Nabokov’s Lolita.
Even today, Bruckner’s memory can be seen in at least two perspectives: radical cancel culture and the fantasy-driven Concertgebouw-ish audience. Which is better—a socio-cultural inquisition or the 'pure' music propaganda? The friction between the two perspectives is so intense that one might begin to think: maybe it’s actually the perfect time to let those classical geniuses rest in peace?..
The piece was commissioned by the Bruckner Casco Festival in 2024.

About Sheltered
Sheltered is a playful exploration of the feeling of Geborgenheit (Eng. feeling sheltered, safe). The musical material of this piece is inspired by sounds that Lisa associates with the feeling of Geborgenheit. By seamlessly weaving melodic and textural sound worlds together, an intimate, unique musical space emerges that invites the audience to feel sheltered, too.
