Pianist Misaki Yamada, violist Saeko Oguma, and clarinetist Blake Weston form the trio “Lann”. Since 2007 they have enjoyed performing the few but excellent works for this setting, and the much success that followed their collaboration. In 2008 they toured the United States to great acclaim, performing works by Schumann and Mozart. Many engagements followed these successful performances; the trio has played numerous concerts in the Netherlands and has been featured on several occasions in radio and television broadcasts throughout Europe. In 2009 the trio toured Japan, playing in some of the most famous halls, including the Tokyo Bunkakaikan, and in September of the same year the three were invited to play in the yearly opening concert of the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Pianist Misaki Yamada graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2009, and is now studying with Willem Brons in the Masters program. Thanks to her initiative, the trio performs often in projects related to a collaboration between visual arts and music, and these performances often feature works by the pianist herself, as she is also an outstanding painter.
Violist Saeko Oguma graduated from the famous Toho Gakuen Conservatory in Tokyo, and began her masters study in 2007 in Amsterdam with Marjolein Dispa. In 2008 she won the Johannes Brahms competition in Poertschach, Austria, and since September 2009 has been a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She regularly performs solo and various chamber music concerts throughout Europe and Japan.
Clarinetist Blake Weston graduated with distinction from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2009 and is now also studying there in the masters program with Hans Colbers. Also a busy solo and chamber music artist with regular engagements on 3 continents, long term collaboration with his established ensembles such as this one stands at the very top of his list.
